Biotech Private Equity M&A

Sapling was engaged by a group of private equity investors looking to merge two biotech manufacturing/R&D companies into a single entity. The group wished to create a model to support their marketing efforts and roadshow, with the goal of raising $35M to finance the deal.
Over the course of 2 days, Sapling rapidly sketched out the requirements for a model, brought a strategic focus to the discussion, gathered information and completed the model, which covered target, acquirer and the merged company. Revenue drivers, expense drivers, and synergies were forecast with significant detail, and the dashboard was designed to be easily updated by the private equity group’s executives “on the fly,” in order to answer impromptu investor questions during the roadshow.
